Great! You are using zip-loc bags to reduce your food waste! Well done. You are saving money, eating better, and creating less garbage.
Now.... Have ever wondered what to do with those bags that have had food in them, like lunch meats and despite the fact you like to recycle, you don't want to take a chance on re-using the bag lest you get sick from some invisible bacteria that grew in the bag?
Solution:
In our house we re-use the zip-loc bags to scoop kitty litter into, and then reseal for the next litter-box cleaning. It's nice because the bags are easy to re-seal and keep the "kitty" smells inside the bag. Meanwhile our zip-loc bag has another purpose in-life before finally going to the landfill.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that "dog people" re-use zip-locs for their own scooping jobs!
